Weekend Permaculture Course Details

Accommodations

Camping is available in our beautiful, wooded campground. Please arrive in time to get set up before the Earthaven Tour begins at 4pm on Friday April 18th.

There are no indoor accommodations available for short-term rental. If you require indoor accommodations, please ask the registrar for information on locally available housing.

Schedule

Beginning & Ending

Registration is from 1 - 4 pm on Friday, April 18th. Our class will begin with a tour of Earthaven at 4pm, followed by supper at 6 pm, and Opening Circle at 7:30 pm.

All other weekends will begin at 9am on Saturday. You will be welcome to camp at Earthaven on Friday nights, for an additional fee. Please ask the registrar for more information.

The class ends on October 12th, at 5pm. There will not be a meal served on Saturday mornings (except for the 1st weekend) or Sunday nights.

Saturday

9:00-1:00 Morning Session (usually two 90-minute classes with a break, after Morning Review)
1:00-2:30 Lunch & Cleanup
2:30-6:30 Afternoon Session (usually hands-on projects, occasionally one class)
6:30-7:30 Supper & Cleanup
8:00-10:00 Evening Program (evening programs are not required for Permaculture Certification)

Sunday

8:00-9:00 Breakfast & Cleanup
9:00-1:00 Morning Session (usually two 90-minute classes with a break, after Morning Review)
1:00-2:30 Lunch & Cleanup
2:30-5:30 Afternoon Session (usually hands-on projects, occasionally one class)
5:30-6:00 Closing

What to bring

  • Camping gear - including tent, groundcloth, canopy, sleeping pad, bedding
  • Clothing for any extreme
  • Shoes to work and walk in + sandals for every-day use [slippers for the classroom if your feet get cold]
  • Paper and pens/pencils
  • Raingear & sun hat
  • Flashlight/lantern [There are no street lights at Earthaven!]
  • Water bottle
  • *Favorite books, videos, or other reference material
  • *Lawn chair or camping chair
  • *Musical instruments (non-electric)
  • 3-ring binder for the 100 pages of notes we’ll give you
